. Hi! I’m Lori Chamberlin and I
am very excited to be the new 5th grade teacher at Newman! I teach Art, Language Arts, Math,
Reading, Religion(Guidance), Science, and Technology. I am a Newman Alumni (Class of ’91) and a member
of Holy Family Parish. I grew up in Mason City, spent several years in Cedar Rapids, and lived in Arizona for about the past
10 years before returning to Mason City this summer. I am a NIACC grad as well as a NAU (Northern Arizona) grad. I spent several
years teaching preschool, but this will be my first year teaching grade 5. I am married and we have been blessed with three wonderful children. They will be in 4th grade, 6th
grade, and 11th grade here at Newman. We also have two dogs, two cats, a rabbit and a tortoise which came with
us all the way from Arizona! I look forward to this year and getting to know each of my students and their families!
Hi, I'm Jean Bergo. This is my eighth year guiding fifth grade students. I teach Art, Math, Reading, Religion(Guidance),
Language Arts and Technology. I'll also teach all the fifth graders Social Studies. I've been in the Newman family
for many years. Our children attended Newman during the 80's and 90's and I taught the Newman preschool program for
much of the 90's.
I have a wonderful husband, three children and two grandkids! Some of
my hobbies include biking, sailing, cross-country skiing, reading, and working sudoku puzzles. I'm looking forward
to this year!!
