Hi! I am Mr. Klatt. I have been teaching at Newman for seven years, but I have been part of the Newman family for
many more. I am a graduate from Newman myself! I have also coached athletics since I graduated. I now teach fifth
grade math, reading, religion, and social studies.
Hi, I'm Jean Bergo. I teach Art, Math, Reading, Religion(Guidance) and Technology. I'll teach all the fifth graders
Language Arts (Grammar, Spelling, and Writing). I've been in the Newman family for many years. Our children attended
Newman during the 80's and 90's and I taught the Newman preschool program for much of the 90's. This is my sixth
year guiding fifth grade students. I am also faculty advisor for the elementary Student Council. This will be a fun year!
Some of my hobbies include biking, sailing, cross-country skiing, reading, working sudoku puzzles and spending time with my
family (my husband and I have three children and two grandkids!)
Hi,
I'm Audrey Wolf, I am new to fifth
grade this year, but certainly not new to Newman. This will be my fifteenth year of teaching. During that time I have taught
middle school, fourth grade and third grade. I have enjoyed them all and look forward to an exciting year in fifth! I graduated
from Buena Vista University and received my Master's Degree from St. Mary's University. I will be teaching Art, Math,
Reading, Technology, and Religion in my homeroom. I especially enjoy Science and will be teaching all of the fifth
grade science. My family consists of my
husband Ralph, my son, Matt (N'98), and his wife, Ellen, who were just married this summer and live in Minneapolis,
and my daughter, Sarah (N'02), who lives in Des Moines. I also have a cat named Annie and a dog named Mollie. We
will have classroom pets that are as yet unnamed! In my free time I enjoy time with family and friends, reading, going to art shows, and doing crossword puzzles.
I enjoy all types of music as well and am "trying" to learn how to play the guitar!
